Juventus make Matthijs De Ligt a priority

Juventus see Ajax defender Matthijs De Ligt as a priority signing in the summer but face opposition from Barcelona.
The Dutch centre-back has nothing short of a revelation since debuting for the senior Ajax side in 2016 and has attracted attention from across Europe’s elite clubs.
According to the Corriere dello Sport (via Goal Italia) the departure of Beppe Marotta marks the beginning of a new era for era for Juve however De Ligt has been a long-term target for the Bianconeri.
The Old Lady’s management team is trying to intensify contacts to wrest the young defender from Barcelona who have long had designs on signing the youngster.
Juventus are reportedly prepared to pay between €50-55m to sign De Ligt, however Ajax could exploit the competition and start a bidding where, and this is where Juve would count on the support of the players agent, Mino Raiola.
If the price were to be raised to €70m, the Bianconeri may be prepared to offer €35m to take the 19-year-old on loan and a further €35m to sign him outright as part of the deal.
Given the high level of interest in the young defender, Juve are monitoring alternatives across Europe, including Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic, Club Brugge’s Matej Mitrovic and Sampdoria’s Joachim Andersen.
